Do I need to re-treat or re-paint my shed?Updated a month ago

It's always a good idea to consider the treating your shed for added longevity, and painting can add a real pop of colour to your garden!

Depending on the type of shed you have purchased, there will be different requirements for treatment which we've outlined below.

Premium Sheds:

All our Premium Sheds come pressure treated. It is, however, important that you re-treat your Powershed as soon as possible (internally and externally), and again annually with a high-quality wood preserver to keep it at its best! As pressure-treated sheds aren't water-resistant, you'll want to use a product which contains water-repellant properties.

Feel free to change the colour of the shed, giving you the ‘power’ to style it your own way. We would however recommend waiting until it is dry to allow the boards to settle and the moisture content to balance. Take extra care to brush treatment into all wooden components inside and outside. Please ensure there are no overhanging branches or debris on the shed as this can lead to water ingress.

Dip-Treated Sheds:

Most of our sheds are dip-treated in our beautiful, custom colour Powersheds preserver. This contains wax-addidives and water-repellant features so your building will be fully protected when it arrives!

You need to re-treat your shed annually, inside and out, with a high-quality wood preserver to ensure the longevity of the timber.

Top tip!

A lot of companies advertise paints or all-in-one treatments which will protect your shed or fence for 5+ years. It's worth noting that a lot of these (if you read the small print) need to be used alongside other products such as wood preserver. Always check the application instructions for the product you're using.
