Is my Powershed treated?Updated 4 months ago
Sheds
Yes – all of our sheds are treated.
Our standard, dip-treated sheds come with an advance exterior wood preservative. You can install your shed without worrying about the elements and allows to select a preserver or paint in your choice of colour to cover the base preserver. We recommend you re-treat your garden building annually thereafter with a high-quality wood preserver (internally and externally) to maintain your Timber Guarantee. You may paint over the preserver and change the colour sooner if you wish.
Our Premium sheds and decking kits have all been pressure-treated. It is however important that you re-treat your Power Shed as soon as possible, and again annually (interally and externally) with a high-quality wood preserver to keep it at its best and maintain your Timber Guarantee!
Feel free to change the colour of the building, giving you the ‘power’ to style it your own way. We would however recommend waiting until it is dry to allow the boards to settle and the moisture content to balance. Take extra care to brush treatment into all wooden components inside and outside. Please ensure there are no overhanging branches or debris on the shed as this can lead to water ingress.
Log Cabins
No, our log cabins are supplied untreated. This is because treating the logs can affect the thickness, which is crucial for ensuring a precise fit when they interlock. To maintain the structural integrity of the cabin, we recommend treating it after assembly.
To help you get started, we provide a free 5L container of clear wood preserver. When applying the treatment, make sure to cover all surfaces of the cabin, paying extra attention to the joins between logs and the bottom few logs on each side, where splashback from rain is most likely. This will protect your cabin from moisture and extend its lifespan.
