What makes Powersheds better than other companies?Updated 2 months ago

1. Timber Quality

The most important reason why Powersheds stand out is the superior quality of the timber we use. Our sheds and cabins are made from high-grade, slow-grown softwood, which is naturally dense and durable. This is something you can’t see in images online, but it truly sets our products apart from those made with lower-grade, fast-grown timber. Our timber grows naturally for over 100 years, making it much less likely to warp or deteriorate, ensuring the longevity and strength of your shed. Our high-grade, slow-grown softwood, features tightly packed growth rings, making it denser, stronger, and more resistant to warping compared to cheaper, fast-grown wood. Additionally, our wood is sourced from the heart (at the centre) of the log, which is more durable and resistant to decay than outer sections. This choice ensures that our sheds and cabins remain reliable and structurally sound for years.

2. Roof and Flooring

We use tongue-and-groove boards for our roofs and floors, providing superior durability. While some competitors use chipboard or OSB, which is not ideal for outdoor conditions, our tongue-and-groove boards are built to withstand the UK’s harsh weather. Our shed roofs are protected with polyester-backed felt for increased longevity, while our cabins feature EPDM rubber roofing with a 50-year lifespan.

3. Frames and Structural Integrity

Our sheds feature thicker, smooth-planed framing for better strength, with corner bracing for additional stability. Unlike cheaper sheds that use thinner framing and no corner bracing, our approach ensures that the structure remains sturdy even under pressure. Cabins benefit from deeper roof purlins, allowing for more usable internal space without needing trusses.

4. Windows and Doors

We use toughened glass in all windows for safety and durability. Unlike styrene or horticultural glass, toughened glass is more resistant to breaking, and if it does break, it shatters into small, safer pieces. Our cabins come with advanced features like tilt-and-turn windows, aluminium low-threshold sills, and secure five-point locking mechanisms.

5. Preservative Quality

Our standard sheds are fully submerged in a high-quality preservative treatment with added wax and silicones for long-lasting protection. While many companies use basic sprays for storage purposes, our approach ensures superior resistance to weathering. Our sheds are protected for a year straight out of the factory, with an option for a premium pressure-treated range.

Our premium sheds are pressure-treated for longevity.

6. Modular Design

Our modular sheds offer more framing for added strength and allow for flexible door and window configurations. Each panel is easy to handle, making assembly user-friendly. Palletised delivery ensures safe and damage-free arrival, while the modular design allows for easier transport through doorways and manageable assembly.

7. Delivery

Our sheds are delivered palletised, securely packed to avoid damage during transit. The palletised approach ensures easy assembly by allowing customers to take apart the panels in an organised manner, avoiding the risk of parts blowing away in the wind during delivery.

8. Sustainability

We are committed to sustainable practices, sourcing timber from PEFC and FSC-certified forests. For every tree harvested, multiple trees are planted. Our sheds are practically packaging-free, and off-cuts are used to heat our factory, reducing waste and emissions.

9. Customer Service

Powersheds is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service, as shown in our positive reviews. We go the extra mile to resolve any issues or complaints quickly and effectively, ensuring a positive experience from start to finish.

These elements combine to make Powersheds the superior choice for quality, longevity, and customer satisfaction.
