Will I require planning permission for my Powersheds garden building?Updated 10 days ago

Sheds:

All of our sheds are designed to be under 2.5m tall to allow you to put a shed in most gardens without applying for planning permission (unless it’s more than 50% of your garden or to be put in your front garden).

However, if you are unsure then please check with the planning portal as the rules are complex and can change in different areas. We recommend everyone checks with their local council prior to building their shed.

*Please note bespoke buildings may be over 2.5m - please check with our team by emailing [email protected]

Cabins:

You may require planning permission if your building is over 2.5m tall and within 2m of a boundary. However, this can vary in different areas of the country and is dependent on your local council. Factors that contribute to possible restrictions include how high your ground/base is, style of roof etc.

All our log cabins are under 2.5m tall and therefore should not require planning permission. It is always best to check with your local planning office if you are unsure about your build, as restrictions can vary between local councils.

*Please note bespoke buildings may be over 2.5m - please check with our team by emailing [email protected]

Our staff are unable to advise if you will require planning permission and you will need to verify this yourself: https://www.planningportal.co.uk/

Gazebos/Pergolas:

Whether or not you need planning permission for a Power Gazebo or Power Pergola can vary depending on your location. In many places, the construction of a gazebo or pergola may not require planning permission as long as it meets certain criteria, such as size, location, and design. However, it's essential to check with your local council to determine the specific rules and regulations that apply to your area.

All our Power Pergolas are under 2.5m tall to allow you to put a Power Pergola in the garden without applying for planning permission in most areas. However, our Power Gazebos may be taller than 2.5m so please do check the dimensions for the Power Gazebo or Power Pergola required.

If you are unsure, then please check with the planning portal as the rules are complex and can change in different areas.

Decking Kits:

Usually, there is no requirement for planning permission as decking would be covered under 'permitted development'. However, certain rules within your area may apply. Therefore, it is always good practice to check with your local council prior to any work commencing.
